The comments point out some problems present in US feature animation.
(and the public's/fan's view of it)
worth looking at.

sketches (and stuff)

in the past few weeks I've 're-discovered' that I like drawing/painting/comics etc.
Possibly more than I do animating. Yeah...more than likely.
So I'll be doing (spending most of my time with) that more.
And producing more finished stuff.

Also...I've decided to spend the next year learning a trade.
(and working on 'spacegirl')

awesome. :D

awesome doesn't describe it. ('!!!' prt7)

Japan's Animation Industry article (and some movies)

(...or US, or Canada, or etc...)

Animation: Outsourcing is slowly erasing Japan's anime industry

---------------------------------------

Picked these up a couple days ago:
In The Loop
Pandorum
Moon

Happy Here and Now
Fires Within
A Minute to Pray, A Second to Die
Jump Tomorrow
El Cortez
Shaolin vs. Ninja/Wu Tang/Lama/Tai Chi

The first three I've seen. The others I've never heard of.
I figured '...why not?...where's the fun in watching movies you've seen before?'
That and the chance to get some film/character study.

A couple I wanted to pick up but didn't:
Punch Drunk Love
Brick Lane

Both with great performances.
Next time I suppose.
